Serve On a Committee

Volunteering for a committee is a great way to demonstrate your expertise, grow and gain new skills, and build your professional portfolio.

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee is responsible for developing, executing and monitoring the chapter communications policies, social media, and digital platforms and communities, as well as recommending new ways to communicate with chapter members and other interested parties through alternative media. Will work directly with all committees to alert members of upcoming events; inform members on insights, techniques, and technical knowledge to strengthen member knowledge and expertise; to build excitement in the AWC DC Metro community; and to promote AWC as the premier association for communications.

Program Committee

The Program Committee shall enhance the professional and leadership development of chapter members and the community through the development of programs, events and activities on a regular basis. The committee must coordinate a program on professional development for the chapter annually, which may be a regular or special meeting. Programs shall represent the scope of the AWC DC Metro vision and mission, and the committee will make recommendations to the Board to change or add programs as needed.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is responsible for collaborating with all committees, special interest groups, chapter members and the Board, and liaisons key strategies, challenges and needs in order to provide insight on membership recruitment, engagement and retention. This committee may assess and recommend new products, services, and programs that will add value to membership.
